Being raised in Germany, Cigdem has always defined herself as a multicultural bridge between Turkey and the rest of the world. She speaks German, English, Turkish and some French and has worked worldwide - from Munich and Berlin to Miami, Chicago, Penang and Istanbul.
Her studies, like her career were universal with Political Science at the Ludwig Maximilians University, a bachelor’s degree in Informations Systems from Florida Atlantic University and a Project Management Master from the George Washington University.
Cigdem’s endless passion for her country brought her back to Istanbul, where in 2012 she found and thereafter sold two hotels, setting her eye eventually on Bodrum after that.
An author of a German Travel Guide about ‘Turkish Coasts’ with a focus on Bodrum (2000), Cigdem is also a contributor to various international papers and a frequent public speaker on issues regarding Turkish - European politics and tourism, with a focus on socio-economic developments.
For the love of Bodrum, she now enjoys consulting investors on real estate & tourism projects, while investing herself in sustainable projects, which in her own words, “will not only contribute to keep Bodrum’s unique character, but ideally also add to its charm".
